A wedding reception is a party held right after the wedding ceremony. It is usually attended by the bride and
groom’s family and friends. And the choice of venue depends on the number of people expected to attend. Common venues include restaurants or a large hall prepared for the occasion to accommodate the people in attendance.
Part of the wedding reception is the wedding guest book registry. This is where all the guests sign in their names as well as put some dedication or messages for the bride and the groom. The most common design of any wedding guest book are the monogrammed silk-bound, leather bound or the rag and bone handmade wedding guest books.
These guest books can also be personalized by affixing the wedding invitation on the cover or embossing the cover of each page with the couple’s personal logo or initials. If the bride and groom also so desires, they can also choose to decorate it with fabrics, colored papers or some decorative ribbons that can somehow compliment the color of the wedding theme.

Or someone from the wedding entourage usually the most outgoing types either coming from the bridesmaids or from the groomsmen would bring out the wedding guest books. They would bring these on a per table basis and require all the guests to sign or write on it.
The pages are usually made from thick paper and it recommended that the pages should have no borders or lines. This is to make sure that the guests are not only to put in their names but also encourage them to put some dedication or a note or two for the couple. This would be reiterated to the guests by the person handling the books. These wedding registry books are very important as these will become the record of people who came to the wedding. The information will also be a source in the preparation of thank you cards to be sent several days after the wedding day to all the people who attended.
Again, the importance of these wedding guest books are aside from the visual remembrances offered by the
video and photo shoots, it provides the personal touches from all of the wedding visitors and guests. Some of their thoughts and feelings as regards the couple will be written in that book. Some can be funny, emotional, personal or advisory in nature.
What they fail to say during the wedding reception maybe because of time constraints or shyness can instead be written on those books. It would still be fun to look at all the messages long after the wedding reception is over. These can also serve as conversational pieces whenever those guests visit the couple’s house in the future.
By having the wedding registry books present in the reception, it certainly would complement the other parts of the reception like the speeches of the bride’s father, groom, best man or even the maid of honor, the toast, the dance, the sumptuous meal, the tossing of the bouquet and garter as well as the eating of the cake.
Keeping a record of this very important event in the lives of the newly-wedded couple is a legacy that can be passed on from generation to generation. The future children of the bride and groom can also experience the joy and happiness experienced during the wedding of their parents through the video footages, photographs as well as the funny and loving messages that can be found in the wedding guest books.
There may be several variations on how people celebrate the wedding reception but one thing remains constant in any other wedding celebration or party: people are there to bless and wish the newly-wed couple luck in their new roles as husband and wife.
