Votive candles are the ones we see in church sometimes; they are usually 2 ½ inches, stout and square or cylindrical in shape. They should be burned in heat resistant, glass containers to ensure safety.

Tea light candles are small candles, usually 1 and ½ ‘ in diameter and about ¾ ‘ high in a metal (tin) container. They are used in food warmers and in tea light holders and in burning fragrance oils.
