Winter Favours – Gifts For A Magical Party
Winter is the best time to organize a party because this is the time when the somber weather might affect your mood in a negative way. So in order to bring back that smile on your face and in your soul then why not invite friends over and enjoy good food and wine with the people you love the most.
Winter is that time of the year wherein a simple party seems cozier, since the cool weather requires major snuggling and encourages people to get closer to each other. So when you are thinking of having a party or a wedding over at your house, then a good idea is to start thinking of the menu. In order to satisfy all kinds of taste buds, make different kinds of food that still complement each other. An example is to make a thick creamy soup, vegetables, steak, pie and so on. If possible, incorporate your friends’ favorite foods like potatoes or strawberries. This way, your guests will surely have something to gush about and this will make the conversation around the table flow easier.
Next is to make your house “guest friendly”. Make sure that your bathroom has enough towels and other toiletries and that you also have enough chairs to make guests feel more comfortable. Having extra wine or other spirits on hand is also a great idea in case you run out of something to drink, although your friends or guests will probably bring over a bottle or two of good wine. Also, playing soft music in the background will create an atmosphere that will surely relax your guests and make them feel at ease. And of course, you should have cocoa in your house especially on the day or night of your party.
If you have lots of cocoa and marshmallows, then surely your guests will appreciate the gesture if you gave them cocoas and marshmallows as winter favours to be taken home after. Another must have is good lighting. Having lots of warm illumination which can either come from candles or your electric bulb will complete the look. On the plus side, warm illumination makes people look so much better, which is good especially if you are in the mood for taking pictures.
What about Christmas parties?
Usually, Christmas is synonymous with winter, unless of course you live in Australia, then it’s not. But if it is for you, then you might be thinking of planning a Christmas party over at your house. This is a good excuse for your family or friends to get together and catch up with each other’s lives. The planning involve in planning this kind of party is almost the same as planning a small get together with friends. The only difference is you add oomph to everything including the food and decorations. The food is more festive and you have more lights to put up. But don’t worry; all that preparation is worth it.
Wedding bells ringing in wintertime
Other occasions celebrated during wintertime include weddings. A lot of couples wed during the winter time because of the glamorous atmosphere a winter wedding can have. The bride can be adorned in fur and diamonds and not look over the top. The reception area can be adorned in silver, white and sparkly stuff without looking gaudy but chic instead. Plus, if you’re lucky, you might just have snow pouring down on your wedding day. Just imagine how romantic that’ll look, especially if you have big windows. And to top off your fabulous wedding bash, don’t forget your guests’ winter favours, which can be anything from gourmet chocolate to cocktail mixes.
Don’t forget that for an amazing party to become a reality, you have to plan days, weeks or even months ahead. Remember that preparation is always the key to a successful party. So have fun preparing and the best of luck to you.
